I paid my portion but I got a bill?

The patient portion of your bill is based on our most current data but there are other factors that can affect this estimate. Examples such as a deductible (individual or family) or if you have received treatment in other offices, such as at a specialist. Insurance companies do not notify us of changes to your benefits, they will only notify you.

The insurance didn't pay for my procedure.

We bill your insurance as a courtesy. If insurance does not pay, Avenue 14 Dental Studio reserves the right to request payment in full for services from you and let you collect the insurance funds that are due to you. This is rare but it is important that you recognize that the insurance you have is a legal contract between you and your insurance company. Ultimately, you are responsible for all charges incurred in our office.

What can I use my Health Spending Account for?

Some employers will offer a Health Spending Account in addition to or instead of dental benefits. These funds can be used to reimburse you for anything that you pay for in our office. For example, you may want to use it for a non-covered procedure such as Zoom ™ whitening. Or you may want to use it for your portion of a covered procedure, such as a crown. After the procedure has been completed, you submit the invoice to your employer who will reimburse you through such an account.
